A Little History:
Biscuits on a Stick can actually be traced back to both a Canadian origin as well as an American Indian origin. Originally the bread made and cooked on a open campfire was called bannock or bannock on a stick. Canadian Aboriginals were known for making bannock and historical records refer to a Bannock-Shashone Indian tribe residing in Idaho in the 1800s.
Simply, it’s biscuits prepared by wrapping biscuit dough on the end of a stick and cooking them over a campfire. When golden brown, just take the bread off the stick and fill it with your favorite campfire food.
